The Sea Stacks on the West Coast Trail were amazing. This was one of my favourites. Note the ever present fog!!

Isn't fog beautiful. It does amazing things to sunlight. Complex scenes become simple and almost zen like in their meditative quality.

The ferry ride after the trail was equally spectacular. This view of the sunset was taken just before the ferry docked, ending an amazing trip!!

The sun did emerge briefly from the fog on the trail. When it did we took full advantage.

Tidal life was also abundant. Some areas are just bursting with starfish, urchins and anemones.

Tsusiat falls is a popular spot with campers and seagulls both, although neither is visible in this shot.

One more ladder shot.....these became very fun over time.

Sea stacks in the fog. A common sight on the trail but still spectacular none the less.

Ah, more rainforest, in the fog no less.

Walking into the mist.

These sea caves looked like a likely lair for pirates...except when the tide comes in.

Sea lions seem to have a great life. They just lounge around all day and enjoy the passing time. Of course it probably isn't like that at all but its my picture...

Ah the West Coast Trail. Ladders and more ladders. This one was at the beginning of the trail. What fun.

Ah whiskey jacks those loveable pirates of the alpine. This guy was intent on getting some of our food. He succeeded.

A gnarled and twisted fir tree from the top of Hollyburn Mt. It is amazing what wind and snow can do.

Everyone loves sunflowers. This one is the third in a series of watercolors I did last fall.
For those of you who asked here is a link to my paintings, just scroll down.

The first painting I have posted on this site in a while. This is the first acrylic I have done in a while as well. It is the first in a series of semi abstract nature pieces I have planned. Stay tuned....
